Rather than simply masking scent, the formula helps make it harder for insects to lock onto you.

- Does Settlers work on sandflies? Yes. The patented formula of essential oils is designed to disrupt cues used by both mosquitoes and sandflies, helping make it more difficult for them to locate people in the immediate area.
- Can I use Settlers around pets? Settlers was originally designed for use around horses and dogs, and is commonly used in homes, outdoor entertaining areas and stables where these animals are present. Cats and birds can be more sensitive to essential oils than dogs and horses, so their tolerance may vary. For this reason, we recommend assessing use around cats and birds on an individual basis and ensuring they have access to fresh air and can leave the area if desired.
- Is Settlers bee friendly? Settlers is designed to repel mosquitoes and sandflies rather than kill insects. It contains natural essential oils and no synthetic pesticides. Bees and other pollinators may avoid the immediate vicinity of a burning candle because of its aroma, but the product is not toxic to them. For best results, position the diffuser near seating and entertaining areas rather than directly beside flowering plants, vegetable gardens or beehives.
- Anything to watch? Stand your diffuser on a protected surface. The essential oils, if spilt, can mark some finishes. Always keep your diffuser upright, and store out of reach of children and pets.
